It’s no mystery that an increase in physical activity has been linked to better health. It’s recommended that adults get 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity aerobic activity per week. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, regular physical activity can help people control their weight, reduce their risk of cardiovascular disease and other chronic conditions, improve their mental health and more. Running is a great way to get that weekly physical activity recommendation.

“Running, even five to 10 minutes a day and at slow speeds, is associated with markedly reduced risks of death from all causes of cardiovascular disease,” stated a study published in the Journal of The American College of Cardiology.

The numerous outdoor running events make it possible to get started right away to enjoy the benefits. Below are several upcoming running events for Berks, Chester and Montgomery Counties.
