POTTSTOWN >> This week’s group walk will begin from The Mercury at noon Wednesday, Oct. 12, and participants will learn more about the final week of the outdoor farmers market.
Participants of this week’s lunchtime stroll are to meet in front of The Mercury building which is located at 24 N. Hanover Street. Side-street parking is available in the area. From there, the group will continue to High Street which is the location of the downtown outdoor market.
The Pottstown market will have their last event of the season on Thursday. Since May, the market has been open every Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. along the 200 block of E. High Street but this week will be the last one of the year.
The Pottstown Farm & Artisan Regional Market, or FARM for short, has fresh produce vendors, a wellness tent and children’s activities. The last event of the season will also include pumpkins for sale to help raise money for next year and families can even create their own scarecrow. For more about the outdoor market, visit the website at www.pottstownfarm.org.
As the weather gets cooler and cooler, this season’s Mercury Mile walks are coming to a close. The weekly activity will be around for about another month before it stops until next year. Don’t miss an opportunity to walk with community members and learn about upcoming events while you still can.
The Mercury Mile is weekly and promotes walking and other fitness activities as a free exercise. The walk has travelled from one location to the next encouraging people to walk at lunch and come together as a community. Walkers are asked to bring business cards or contact information to exchange with one another.
Businesses or organizations interested in hosting the walk should email Michilea Patterson at email@example.com or call 610-850-0282 to schedule a time.
To find each week’s location, like the Facebook page www.facebook.com/Mercfit4life. Walkers can also be added to The Mercury Mile email list by contacting Patterson. If there is inclement weather on Wednesday afternoon then the walk will be cancelled.
