Spring showers didn’t stop the annual EarthFest at Boyertown Community Park on Saturday.
The celebration of nature and the environment is held every year on Earth Day. The event included environmentally friendly activities such as giving children the opportunity to make pine cone birdseed feeders. The Building a Better Boyertown Tree Committee had trees for sell and gave away free seedlings. The committee was once again presented with the Tree City USA award for the 10th year.
EarthFest also included several fit activities such as a morning tai chi demonstration and a 24-foot wall that was available for children to climb. The Boyertown Parks and Recreation Board used the healthy celebration as an opportunity to unveil a new bear statue that was recently added to Boyertown Community Park. Parker the Bear holds a picnic basket for a park theme.
